The Passamaquoddy Health Center (PHC) was established in 1979 through Public Law (P.L.) 93-638 Indian Self Determination Education and Assistance Act contract with the federal government to administer health care services to Passamaquoddy Tribal Citizens and/or Indian Health Service Beneficiaries. Since establishment, the program has grown to provide an array of medical, behavioral and dental health services to American Indians and Alaska Natives (AN/AN), including a State Agency Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program for citizens of the Passamaquoddy Tribe.
To comply with the Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA) of 2010, the Passamaquoddy WIC Programs are in the process of planning for a transition to eWIC and require project management services with both WIC project management and eWIC experience to perform planning activities within the Planning Advanced Planning Document (PAPD) and implementation activities to be outlined in an Implementation Advanced Planning Document (IAPD). PHC, in collaboration with the Passamaquoddy Pleasant Point Health Center, is the project and fiscal lead in the effort to move towards EBT compliance. For purposes of this document, references to PHC include both sites. Both sites currently operate SPIRIT as our MIS system.
